I wanted to update everyone on the season and how this year’s team shapes up.
Tomorrow is a day that I have been waiting for since last September. Coming home after a long season is always one of the most rewarding things as a player and it was no different this past September; of course, I was ready to step away for some much needed time off, but I also vividly remember thinking on the plane ride home… can we win a championship again?
I was hoping they would keep most of the guys together and sure enough, here we are, in Wilmington, Delaware about to start the season with almost 22 players and our manager returning together for a second season at the next level.
I am playing for the Wilmington Blue Rocks this year; the Advanced A-Ball team for the Kansas City Royals. The Blue Rocks are 1 out of 10 teams in the Carolina League which is known to be one of the tougher A-Ball Leagues. The Carolina League is not convenient for all of my Alabama folks, but you can still support and keep up from afar!
I am really optimistic about this year as a team and as an individual. With this being our second season in a row, I am hoping the comradery, friendships, and work ethic we built last year trickles into this year and allows us to make another run for a championship in the Carolina League. Contrary to the minor league norm, I feel like we play well as a team and in return, we play better as individuals. Overall, it should be a fun!

⬇️ INSIDE LOOK AT CHOOSING MY WALK UP SONG ⬇️
If you have ever been to a baseball game you probably have heard the players walking up to to the plate to different songs. This gives the players an opportunity to share a little bit about themselves.
I find this as a unique opportunity to share something that I believe in. Worship music is one of my favorite things to listen to and connect with God, so I figured why not combine my at-bat with an opportunity to have a little worship music. I have a few different songs that I switch between, but this one is my favorite.
For the last three years, I have fallen in love with the song, "Tremble" by Mosaic. It actually has become quite popular with my teammates! Whenever they see me for the first time that day, I do something good around the clubhouse, or see them outside of baseball they all sing "Jesus, Jesus" to me! It is kind of funny!
Song starts at 4:20!
The lyrics say, “Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble / Jesus, Jesus, You silence fear.” It is such a clear declaration of Jesus and to me, it is comforting to know that whatever I am going through the day, the fear is silence and I live in freedom!
Thank you for keeping up with my journey! Your support means more than you know.
Let the morning butterflies start for the next 140 days... it never goes away! Here's to a healthy, God-centered, and successful 2019 season!
